2 Dead in Chino Valley Car Accident

Chino Valley, Arizona: Two people died in a two-vehicle collision that happened Saturday afternoon in Chino Valley, according to authorities.

Police officers received reports of the collision just after 3 p.m. on State Route 89 and Road 3 South.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Mercury sedan was traveling westbound on East Road 3 when the driver made a left turn onto the southbound lanes of SR-89.

The sedan was struck on the driver’s side door by the SUV which was traveling northbound on the highway.

The driver of the sedan, Saundra Deiley, 72, and a passenger, Richard Deiley, 85, both from Chino Valley, were hospitalized in critical condition. They later died at the hospital.

The driver of the SUV, a 44-year-old woman, and her two small children, all from Chino Valley, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol, drugs, and speed were ruled out as possible contributing factors.
