2 Deputies Injured After Being Broadsided by Porsche Driver in Stockton

San Joaquin County, California: Two deputies were hurt when a suspected DUI driver ran a stop sign and broadsided a patrol car Saturday in the Garden Acres area of Stockton.

According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, two of their deputies were in a patrol vehicle traveling east on E. Main Street when, just before midnight, they were broadsided by a Porshe SUV that ran a red light while going south on Hinkley Avenue.

The patrol vehicle crashed into a fence of a nearby home after the first impact. The Porsche crashed through the fence of the Church of Christ on E. Main Street.

One of the deputies was hospitalized with a broken collarbone. The officer was treated and released to recover at home.

The extent of injuries sustained by the other deputy and the Porsche driver remained unknown.

The Porsche driver is suspected of driving while intoxicated.

An investigation is ongoing.
