2 Girls Hit by Tesla at Walmart Girl Scout Cookie Stand in Granite Bay

Granite Bay, California – Two children and a woman were injured after being struck by a Tesla at a Girl Scout cookie stand in Granite Bay on Saturday afternoon.

At around 4 p.m., the California Highway Patrol Auburn office responded to the scene of a traffic collision at the entrance of a Walmart on Douglas and Sierra College boulevards.

A Tesla reportedly struck a 76-year-old woman and two minors, leaving the woman with severe injuries.

The juveniles were transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.

69-year-old Gary L. Benson, of Cameron Park, was driving the Tesla and was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injuries.

More details about the accident were not provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
