Bakersfield, California: Two people, including a child who was ejected from a car, were injured after a two-vehicle collision that happened Friday morning in Bakersfield.

The accident was reported around 10:11 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5 near Rowlee Road.

A sedan collided with another vehicle under unclear circumstances. One of the cars reportedly ended up about 50 to 100 yards off the roadway.

A child was ejected from one of the cars, sustaining a head injury.

Two helicopters were dispatched to the scene to airlift the child and at least one person to the hospital.

No other details were given but an investigation is ongoing.
