Elise Adair Farrens Killed, Daviana Mari Trusell Critically Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 97 in Klamath County
2, Including Unborn Baby, Killed in Klamath County Crash
Klamath County, Oregon: Elise Adair Farrens, 37, of La Pine, and an unborn baby died in a semi-truck accident that happened Thursday in Klamath County.
According to authorities, the wreck occurred in the southbound lanes of Highway 97 near milepost 174.
34-year-old Desiree Danielle Johnson from Florida was driving a Peterbilt CMV when she lost control of the big rig and jackknifed in the roadway.
Her semi-trailer truck spun and crossed paths with a Honda driven by Farrens.
The Honda hit the trailer, killing Farrens at the scene.
Farrens passenger, 23-year-old Daviana Marie Trussell of La Pine sustained critical injuries. She was taken to the hospital for treatment. Trussell was pregnant and unfortunately lost her baby due to injuries sustained in the collision.
Johnson was treated for minor injuries.
Investigators closed the highway for about three and a half hours following the collision.
