2 Injured, Highway 371 Closed After Aguanga Car Crash

Aguanga, California: Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle collision that happened Tuesday afternoon on Highway 371 in Aguanga, the California Highway Patrol said.

Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene at Lakeshore Boulevard after receiving reports of the crash at around 2:25 p.m.

CHP said two vehicles collided under unclear circumstances, and one overturned, rolling at least once.

The firefighters found two people with injuries. An air ambulance was requested to airlift one seriously injured victim to a regional trauma center. The patient was taken to by ground ambulance to Lake Riverside Airport, a private strip just north of the highway, from where they were airlifted.

The second patient was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance with moderate injuries.

The highway was closed in both directions following the accident.
