Two Drivers Hurt, 1 Critically, After Powell Butte Car Crash on Powell Butte Highway

2 Injured in Head-On Collision on Powell Butte Highway

Powell Butte, Oregon: A head-on collision involving three vehicles sent two people to the hospital Thursday morning in Powell Butte.

According to the Crook County Sheriff’s Office, a Prineville man was driving a small SUV eastbound on Powell Butte Highway when for some reason, the vehicle left his lane of travel and drifted into the opposing lane, hitting two oncoming cars head-on.

Crook County sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, and paramedics, alongside Redmond Fire and Rescue, Oregon State Police, and ODOT responded to the scene.

The female driver of one of the oncoming cars was airlifted by Air Link helicopter to St. Charles Bend with critical injuries.

The driver of the SUV was transported by ground ambulance with unknown injuries.

It was unclear if the male driver of the third car was hurt.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
