Merced, California – Two people were hospitalized after a head-on collision that happened in Merced County on Saturday morning.
The collision was reported around 6 a.m. on Turner Island Road near Palazzo Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 26-year-old woman was driving north on Turner Island when she drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a silver Toyota.
The woman was hospitalized with major injuries.
A 39-year-old man from the Toyota was airlifted to a nearby hospital with major injuries.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
