2 Killed, 11 Injured in Goodyear Bicycle Accident on Cotton Lane
Goodyear, Arizona – Two bicyclists died and several others were injured after a vehicle crashed into a group of cyclists early Saturday morning in the West Valley.
Goodyear police say the tragic incident happened at around 8 a.m. on Cotton Lane near MC-85. The events leading up to the accident were not immediately established.
Several ambulances responded to the incident. Authorities say a woman was pronounced dead at the accident scene. Another bicyclist was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Eleven other people were hospitalized, some with major injuries.
The male driver of the involved pickup truck stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Both lanes of Cotton Lane from Estrella Parkway to MC-85 were closed as officers processed the scene.
