2 People Dead, 2 Others Hospitalized After Rear-End Collision on Interstate 5 near Milepost 233
2 Killed, 2 Injured in Linn County Crash on I-5
Linn County, Oregon: Two people died, and two others were injured in a two-vehicle collision that happened early Sunday morning in Linn County.
The Oregon State Police said the accident occurred at around 3:15 a.m. on Interstate 5 near milepost 233.
The collision involved an Infinity SUV occupied by driver Jimmy Davis, 64, of Portland, and passengers Kimberly Ritter, 56, of Portland, and two teenagers, and a Nissan Rogue SUV occupied by 36-year-old Glenn Stillman of Independence.
Police believe Davis rear-ended the Nissan, and the force of the impact sent the Infinity off the roadway into nearby trees.
Ritter and a teenage boy were declared dead at the scene.
Davis sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the other teenage passenger was hospitalized with severe injuries.
Stillman did not suffer any injuries, as per the report.
Police are investigating the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
