2 Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Fiery Modesto Crash
Modesto, California: Two people died, and two others were seriously injured in a fiery collision that happened Wednesday evening in Modesto.
The California Highway Patrol said the wreck occurred around 5:44 p.m. on State Route 132 near Gates Road.
According to CHP, an Infiniti was traveling east of the highway approaching Gates Road when, for an unknown reason, veered into the westbound traffic and collided with a Chevy Suburban. The Infiniti caught fire after the crash.
Both occupants of the Infiniti died in the crash.
The two occupants in the Chevy were hospitalized with major injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
Investigators closed the highway in both directions between Gates Road and River Road as they worked the scene.

Santa Maria, California: One person was seriously injured in a traffic collision that happened Friday morning in Santa Maria.
The California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred around 5:42 a.m. in the 1599 block of East Betteravia Road.
A red Nissan sedan and a white sedan were involved in the crash.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and found one person with major injuries. The patient was hospitalized in unknown condition.
CHP officers are investigating the accident.

Bicyclist Killed in Orangevale Crash at Elm and Beech Avenues
Orangevale, California – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal collision that left a bicyclist dead on Thursday afternoon in Orangevale.
The deadly crash happened at the intersection of Elm and Beach avenues at around 4:30 a.m., according to the police.
The man was riding the electric bicycle heading south on Beech Avenue approaching Elm Avenue while a pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Elm Avenue.
Both the bicyclist and the driver entered the intersection at the same time and collided.
The bicyclist was killed in the crash.
The pickup driver was not injured and stayed at the scene after the crash.
More details regarding the accident were not provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Man Killed in Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Highway 180
Fresno, California – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident that happened on Thursday morning in Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at around 10:45 a.m. on Highway 180 near Highway 41.
The man reportedly ran across the highway directly in front of a car and was hit.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The name of the man was not immediately disclosed
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be a factor in the accident.
More details about the crash were not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
