Naches, Washington State (May 5, 2023) – The Washington State Patrol is investigating a deadly two-car accident that killed two persons on Thursday afternoon in Naches.
The accident occurred on State Route 12 near milepost 181 on May 4.
Police said a Kio Rio travelling westbound tried to pass another car through the eastbound lanes; the Kia lost control and slammed into a Ford F-350.
The Kia driver and their passenger suffered fatal injuries due to the accident. Their names remained undisclosed.
The Ford driver suffered injuries and was treated at Yakima Memorial Hospital.
Police did not suspect alcohol and drugs to have contributed to the accident.
Authorities closed Highway 12 near 410 junctions following the collision.
The incident remains under investigation.
