2 Killed in Bakersfield Crash on 5 Freeway near Millux Road
Bakersfield, California – Two people are dead and nine others were injured after a thirty-five-vehicle pileup on Saturday morning in Bakersfield.
The accident happened on Interstate 5 Freeway between Millux Road and Old River Road, at around 7:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Kern County Fire Department said 17 passenger vehicles and 18 big rigs were involved in the collision caused by foggy conditions. It is reported that visibility was as low as 10 feet.
Two people were pronounced dead at the accident scene.
Nine other people were hospitalized with minor injuries.
