2 Killed in Crash near Tacoma Narrows Bridge Toll Plaza Identified
Plaza Tacoma, Washington: Authorities have identified the two people who died in a traffic collision on the Tacoma Narrows Bridge Toll Plaza.
33-year-old Jeremy Kirkmeyer and 30-year-old Torrey Kirkmeryer died in the crash that happened around 2 p.m. Friday on State Route 16.
The Washington State Patrol said a 2017 Chevrolet Sonic and a 2008 Ford Explorer were traveling eastbound on the highway, approaching the toll plaza. The Chevy was in the second lane, and the Ford was in the fourth lane.
Authorities said for an unknown reason, the Ford crossed two lanes and into the Chevy’s lane and hit it.
The Kirkmeyers died in the crash. Both were residents of Bremerton.
The two occupants in the Ford were hospitalized for their injuries.
No toll booth workers were injured.
Troopers said drugs or alcohol did not appear to be factors.
