Redwood City, California – At least two people died in a car crash that happened near Pescadero in San Mateo County on Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 6:40 p.m. on Highway 1 near Bean Hollow Road.
A Subaru SUV and a Tesla collided head-on in unclear circumstances. One of the cars reportedly veered off the roadway and into a shallow lagoon.
At approximately 6:39pm, CHP officers received a call of a 2 vehicle crash on SR-1 south of Bean Hollow State Beach. Preliminary information indicates a Subaru SUV was traveling northbound, and a Tesla was traveling southbound or SR-1 south of Bean Hollow pic.twitter.com/2Dj1rYH62O

Authorities say two men including the Tesla driver were killed in the accident.
The name of the deceased person was not immediately disclosed.
A woman in her 60s was airlifted to Stanford Medical Center in critical condition.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
