2 Killed in Douglas County Car Crash on Highway 101

Douglas County, Oregon – Two people killed in a two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon in Douglas County.

The fatal collision happened at around 12:10 p.m. on Highway 101 near milepost 208, according to the Oregon State Police.

Raymond Louis Eby Jr. (35) of Molalla, was driving a silver GMC Sonoma southbound on the highway when he drifted into the oncoming lanes and collided head-on with a Toyota RAV 4 driven by Shawna Michelle Coolidge (51) of Florence.

The impact of the collision caused the GMC to roll over and came to rest on its roof.

Both Eby Jr. and Coolidge were killed in the accident.

A 3-year-old child in the Toyota was transported to Lower Umpqua Hospital before being transported to Sacred Heart Riverbend.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
