Lake County, California: Two people died, and a DUI suspect was arrested after a head-on collision that happened Monday morning in Lake County.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred around 6:24 a.m. on Highway 20, east of Witter Springs Road.

A 2000 Nissan Frontier pickup truck and a 2011 Toyota Prius were involved in the crash.

Authorities said a male Ukiah resident was driving the pickup truck westbound on the highway with two male passengers, a 44-year-old Ukiah man, and another passenger from an unknown city.

The pickup driver attempted to pass other vehicles by steering the vehicle into the opposing lane but ended up colliding head-on with the Prius.
