2 Killed in Mesa Car Accident at Country Club Drive and Main Street
Mesa, Arizona: Two people died in a two-vehicle collision that happened Wednesday morning in Mesa, the Mesa Police Department said.
The wreck occurred at Country Club Drive and Main Street.
Police said a Hyundai Elantra was traveling east on Main Street when it entered the intersection with Country Club Drive at a high rate of speed and collided with a black Ford Edge going south on Country Club. The Elantra then slammed into a pole after the first impact.
The driver and passenger of the Elantra died at the scene.
The occupants of the Edge sustained minor injuries.
The intersection was shut down in all directions during the investigation.
