2 Killed in Monday Morning Fresno County Crash Identified as Father and Daughter

Fresno County, California: The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified the two people who died in a Monday morning traffic collision near Annadale and Chestnut avenues as father and daughter.

50-year-old Rogelio Avila and his daughter, 20-year-old Yessenia Avila, both from Parlier, were involved in the collision around 7:45 a.m. during foggy weather.

Authorities said the victims were driving a pickup truck to Fresno Pacific University for Yessenia’s class at the time of the accident.

The pickup was traveling north on Chestnut when it crashed into a big rig hauling milk going westbound on Annadale when it attempted to make a left turn.

The pickup truck got wedged underneath the big rig’s trailer, trapping the Avilas.

Firefighters responded and extricated the victims, who sadly, died in the crash.
