2 Killed in Oceanside Crash Involving U-Haul

Oceanside, California: Two people died in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday night at an intersection in Oceanside, the Oceanside Police Department said.

The incident occurred around 7:35 p.m. on State Route 76 at Canyon Road.

Police said the driver of a gray Mercedes sedan was traveling north on Canyon Road when they ran a red light at SR-76 and got hit by a U-Haul heading east on the highway.

The force of the impact caused the vehicles to become entangled together and collide with a white Kia sedan in the left turn lane of westbound SR-76.

Both occupants of the Mercedes died in the crash.

The drivers of the U-Haul and Kia were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Police said they do not believe alcohol contributed to the accident.
