2 Killed in Phelan Crash on Phelan Road near Tumbleweed Road

San Bernardino, California – Two people were killed in a head-on collision that left one other person injured on Sunday night in Phelan.

The fatal collision happened on Phelan Road near Tumbleweed Road at around 8:15 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino Fire Department.

A 38-year-old Oak Hills woman was driving a white GMC Yukon eastbound when she drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a blue Subaru Forester driven by a 27-year-old Phelan man.

The driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The driver of the Yukon was transported to the hospital where she died while receiving treatment.

A passenger in the Yukon was airlifted to Antelope Valley Medical Center with major injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
