Man, Woman Die After Being Struck by Car near Astoria Street and Foothill Boulevard
2 Killed in Sylmar Pedestrian Accident
Sylmar, California: Two people died after being struck by a car Thursday evening near an intersection in Sylmar, the Los Angeles Police Department said.
The accident was reported around 7:55 p.m. near Astoria Street and Foothill Boulevard.
Authorities said a 40-year-old man was pushing a woman in a wheelchair when a vehicle traveling east on Foothill struck them.
The man died at the crash scene.
The woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition. She later died from her injuries.
The 35-year-old driver of the car stopped and remained at the scene.
Investigators are trying to establish the factors that led to the accident.
