Teen Driver Detained After Fatally Striking 2 Men near Van Buren Boulevard and Challen Avenue
2 Men Hit and Killed by Speeding Driver in Riverside
Riverside, California: Two men and a dog died when a teenage driver hit them Sunday night in a Riverside pedestrian accident, authorities said.
The incident happened at around 11:45 p.m. near Van Buren Boulevard and Challen Avenue.
According to the Riverside Police Department, a 17-year-old boy was driving a GMC pickup truck at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle and hit two pedestrians, a dog, and a light pole.
The victims, only identified as men in their 20s, died at the scene, as well as the dog.
One victim is from Riverside, and the other is believed to be from another country.
The driver was taken to a hospital with internal injuries.
Police detained him and said he did not have a driver’s license.
