2 Men Injured in Scooter-Bicycle Crash on Market St in San Francisco

San Francisco, California: Two men were seriously injured when a scooter and a bicycle collided Wednesday afternoon on Market Street in San Francisco.

San Francisco police and paramedics responded to Market and 5th streets after receiving reports of the accident.

The responders found two men with serious injuries and pools of blood in the street and curb.

Both riders suffered serious injuries, but the scooter rider appeared to be more injured. He was going in and out of consciousness.

The bicycle rider was able to answer basic questions and sit up.

Both victims were bleeding from their heads.

The paramedics offered the victims medical aid at the scene and transported them to the hospital.

One of the victims was riding what a witness described as a Lime scooter, and the other was riding a bicycle. The two collided under unclear circumstances.

Paramedics used buckets of chlorine to clean blood smears from the roadway.

Police are investigating the collision, which comes about two weeks after 55-year-old Frans Alst, a tourist pedestrian visiting from the Netherlands, died days after he was hit by a scooter on Market Street between Fourth and Fifth streets.
