2 People Die After Tractor Trailer Collision on I-40 near Flagstaff

Flagstaff, Arizona: Two people died in a traffic collision involving two commercial vehicles that took place early Thursday morning on Interstate 40 near Flagstaff.

The accident took place around 3 a.m. near the eastbound off-ramp to Parks.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, two tractor-trailers were involved in the accident.

Investigators said one tractor-trailer was stopped at a fork in the roadway, and the driver had exited to inspect the tires. At that time, the second tractor-trailer hit the stopped semi-truck.

Authorities said the driver and the co-driver of the stopped vehicle died at the crash scene.

The driver and co-driver of the other vehicle were not hurt.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
