2 Seriously Injured in Wrong-Way Collision on Loop 101 Pima in Scottsdale
Scottsdale, Arizona: Two people were seriously injured, and a portion of Loop 101 Pima was closed after a wrong-way collision that happened early Saturday morning in Scottsdale.
According to the Department of Public Safety, the incident took place around 4 a.m. on the westbound Loop 101 Pima near Scottsdale Road.
Authorities received calls about a vehicle driving eastbound in the westbound lanes. By the time officers arrived in the area, the wrong-way car had collided with one car, causing it to hit a third vehicle.
The wrong-way driver, a man in his 20s, and at least one person in the car that was first hit sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are looking into whether the wrong-way driver was impaired during the accident.
Loop 101 Pima was closed until around 6 a.m.
