2 Teenagers Killed in Riverside Accident Identified

Riverside, California: Friends identified the two teens who died in a high-speed accident that happened Saturday morning in Riverside as 17-year-old Jahseem and 18-year-old Alicia.

The collision took place around 5:40 a.m. on Wood Road and Van Buren Boulevard.

The Riverside Police Department responded to the scene after they received reports of the crash.

Investigators established that a gray Lexus sedan was traveling north on Wood Road at a high rate of speed when it ran a red light at Van Buren Boulevard.

At that time, a blue Scion heading west on Van Buren on a green light struck the Lexus.

The Lexus continued northbound, hit a cement light pole, a wooden electrical pole, and a tree before stopping and catching fire.

Jahseem and Alicia occupied the Lexus and died at the scene.

Another passenger in the Lexus, a 17-year-old boy, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police officers suspect drugs, alcohol, and speed contributed to the crash.

The deceased were identified by a group of friends who held a vigil Sunday evening to honor the teens.
