2 Young Girls Killed in DUI Crash at Riverside and Walnut Avenues in Rialto

Rialto, California – Two young girls were killed in a DUI car crash that happened at an intersection in Rialto on Sunday night.

Rialto Police Department responded to the crash at around 11 p.m. at Riverside and Walnut Avenues.

Alexis Garcia, 28, of San Bernardino, was driving a blue Dodge Ram southbound on Riverside Avenue when he reportedly failed to stop at the red light and slammed into the back of a white Honda Accord.

Two girls in the backseat of the Honda and were killed in the crash.

The parents, a 24-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

Garcia was arrested for driving under the influence and will face two counts of murder charges.

A third vehicle was hit by the Honda but the driver was not injured.

No additional details about the incident were available.

The crash remains under investigation.
