Ian Shaw Dies After Clovis Car Crash near Fowler Avenue and Gettysburg Avenue
2nd Person Dies Nearly 1 Month After Clovis DUI Accident
Clovis, California: 42-year-old Ian Shaw of Clovis died Saturday nearly a month after he was involved in a deadly DUI accident at an intersection in the city.
The crash also killed 25-year-old Quinceia McBean of Coarsegold.
Clovis police arrested 19-year-old FNU Himanshu following the crash. The suspect’s first name in his CA ID was listed as FNU, standing for “First Name Unknown.”
The accident occurred around 2 a.m. on December 1 at Fowler and Gettysburg avenues.
Police said Himanshu was traveling at a high rate of speed on Gettysburg when he ran a red light at Fowler and T-boned another car at the intersection.
Both cars spun out and collided with three other parked vehicles.
Shaw was driving the car that collided with Himanshu’s vehicle.
Both drivers and three others were taken to hospitals for treatment.
McBean, a passenger in Shaw’s car, died from her injuries later that day.
Authorities said Shaw died from his injuries Saturday.
Himanshu was later arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence. Additional charges against the suspect are expected to be filed following Shaw’s death.
