3 Family Members Hit and Injured by Car in Mid City

Los Angeles, California: Three family members were hospitalized after a Mid City pedestrian accident that happened late Wednesday afternoon after a car lost control and jumped a sidewalk.

Authorities said at around 5:25 p.m., a man, his wife, and their son were walking on the sidewalk along La Cienega Boulevard, just north of Pico Boulevard when a car came around the corner too fast and jumped the sidewalk.

The car hit the family and then slammed into a nearby Chase bank.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said the 51-year-old man and the 48-year-old woman were hospitalized with serious injuries. Their son was also hospitalized in fair condition.

The driver of the car was treated at the scene but declined transportation.

Officers do not believe drugs or alcohol contributed to the accident.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
