3 Injured in Crash Involving BART Train and Pickup Truck
Oakland, California: Three people were injured in a Monday night collision involving a BART train and a pickup truck that crashed onto the trackway in Oakland.
According to Oakland police, the incident occurred at about 11:30 p.m. near East Eighth Street and Seventh Avenue.
BART said a Daly City-bound train collided with a pickup truck between the Coliseum and Lake Merritt stations.
The train operator and a train passenger were injured in the accident. The operator was taken to the hospital for treatment.
About 45 passengers on the train were evacuated following the accident.
The driver of the truck was also hospitalized in an unknown condition.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
