3 Hospitalized with Serious Injuries after San Luis Obispo Crash on South Higuera Street
3 Injured in DUI Head-On Collision on South Higuera Street in San Luis Obispo
San Luis Obispo, California – Three people were injured in a head-on collision involving a suspected drunk driver in San Luis Obispo on Monday night.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 27-year-old Nichalas Hill was driving a BMW 335i northbound on South Higuera Street at around 9 p.m. when he drifted into the opposite lanes near Clover Ridge Lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV.
61-year-old Kevin Suchoza, of Rancho Cucamonga, was driving the SUV and had to be extricated from the vehicle before being transported to French Hospital Medical Center with major injuries.
Kevin’s wife, 63-year-old Yolanda Suchoza, also suffered major injuries and was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.
Hill’s unidentified passenger was seriously injured in the crash and was transported to Sierra Vista.
Hill sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.
