Jefferson Park, California – Three people were injured in a collision involving a Los Angeles Police Department cruiser on Sunday evening in Jefferson Park.
The collision happened on Adams Boulevard near Gramercy Place at around 6 p.m. according to the authorities.
The LAPD cruiser was responding to a request for assistance from the Los Angeles Fire Department regarding a call of a psychiatric patient with a knife.
While on the way, the police cruiser collided with another vehicle in unclear circumstances.
Two officers sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
A man in the second vehicle was extricated from the car and was rushed to the hospital with severe injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
The accident remains under investigation.

Three vehicles collided, trapping two occupants in the wreckage.
Firefighters responded to the scene and freed the victims. The patients were taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Irvine, California: 65-year-old Kenneth Joseph McLeod died after he collided with a car while riding a motorcycle Wednesday afternoon at an intersection in Irvine.
The accident was reported around 4:50 p.m. at Alton Parkway and Foster.
Investigators said McLeod was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alton when he ran a red light at Foster and crashed into a Tesla turning left from northbound Alton onto westbound Foster.
The Tesla had a green light at the time of the crash.
McLeod died at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Woman on Motorized Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car in Victorville
Victorville, California: A woman riding a motorized wheelchair was injured when she was hit by a car Thursday morning at an intersection in Victorville.
The accident was reported around 8:48 a.m. at Roy Rogers Drive and Amargosa Road.
Victorville police, firefighters, and AMR responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.
A man driving a black Nissan was found at the scene but it was not clear if he was the driver involved in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
