3 Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 101 in Salinas

Salinas, California: Three people were injured in a semi-truck accident that happened late Tuesday afternoon in Salinas, the California Highway Patrol said.

The accident occurred around 5:34 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 near Esperanza Road.

A blue Ford Escape collided with a semi-truck and got stuck underneath the trailer.

Reportedly, the driver and a passenger in the Ford were trapped inside and asked a party at the scene to get their child out of the vehicle.

The report said the crash resulted in major injuries. The child was bleeding from the foot. The driver and passenger suffered unspecified injuries. Firefighters responded to the scene and transported the victims to the hospital.

Authorities are investigating the accident.
