3 Injured in Sonora Car Accident on Highway 108

Sonora, California: Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident that happened Tuesday in Sonora, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported around noon on Highway 108 just a half mile west of Hess Avenue.

First responders found a Ford Explorer, a Ford F-150, and a Ford Expedition involved in the collision.

The cause and manner of the crash remained unknown.

23-year-old Joshua Engle of Modesto was driving the Explorer. He was airlifted to a hospital in Modesto with major injuries.

70-year-old Sherri Lee of Sonora was driving the Expedition. He was taken to Adventist Health Sonora with minor to moderate injuries.

The driver of the F-150, 61-year-old Michael Kindberg of Hilmar, complained of pain that did not require hospitalization.

Investigators closed the highway from Lower Iower Mono Way to Peaceful Oak Road for about an hour.
