3 Injured in Sorrento Valley Head-On Collision on Mira Mesa Boulevard
San Diego, California – Three people were injured in a suspected DUI crash that happened on Sunday night in Sorrento Valley.
San Diego police say the accident happened at around 8:53 p.m. in the 5300 block of Mira Mesa Boulevard near Interstate 805.
A 2014 Ford Transit van operated by a 26-year-old woman was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes when it collided with an oncoming 2017 Honda Civic.
A 44-year-old female passenger in the Civic suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital while the 42-year-old male driver sustained minor injuries.
The van driver, who suffered internal injuries in the crash, was later arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
