3 Killed in Hesperia Crash at Mariposa Road and Mesquite Street in Hesperia Identified

Hesperia, California – Three people were killed in a head-on collision that happened on Tuesday afternoon in Hesperia.

The double-fatal crash happened on Mariposa Road at Mesquite Street at around 3:42 p.m., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office.

45-year-old Pavlo Padilla was driving a Chevrolet Suburban when he veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a Toyota Corolla driven by 58-year-old Pedro Valencia-Perez.

Valencia-Perez and his two passengers, 22-year-old Jose Valencia-Saucedo and 59-year-old Rosa Saucedo-Negrete, were killed in the accident.

Francisco Valencia-Saucedo, 21, was riding in the Toyota and was hospitalized with major injuries.

More details about the accident were not released.

Padilla was arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI causing injury/death.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
