3 Dead, 2 Seriously Injured in Lane County Crash on Highway 126W
3 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision in Lane County
Lane County, Oregon: Three people died in a late Wednesday afternoon multi-vehicle collision that happened on Highway 126W in Lane County.
According to the Oregon State Police, the deadly collision was reported at around 5:46 p.m. on Highway 126W near milepost 30.
Authorities said a Dodge Challenger heading westbound on the highway crossed the centerline and sideswiped a Nissan Frontier.
The Dodge continued out of control westbound in the eastbound lane and struck a Toyota Tacoma nearly head-on.
The crash killed the driver of the Dodge at the scene. He was identified as Allen David Weaver Jr., of Grace, Idaho.
Two passengers in the Toyota also died in the collision. They were identified as 28-year-old Lacy Nicole Taylor, and 58-year-old Denise Taylor. Both are residents of Eugene.
The driver of the Toyota and a third passenger were hospitalized with serious injuries.
The occupants of the Nissan were not injured.
Highway 126W was closed for about four and a half hours during the investigation.
