3 Killed, Several Others Injured in Douglas Car Crash

Douglas, Arizona: Three people died, and several others were injured in a traffic collision that happened Thursday morning in Douglas.

The collision took place at 15th Street and A Avenue.

According to the Douglas Police Department, one of their officers spotted a vehicle traveling into the city limits from State Route 80, east of Douglas, at an estimated speed of 80 mph.

The officer did not attempt a traffic stop or chase due to distance from the patrol car.

A while later, officers were informed about a crash at 15th and A involving the speeding vehicle.

First responders found several people ejected from the reckless driving car.

Three people from the vehicle died in the accident. Two occupants in the same car were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The driver of the car hit by the recklessly driving vehicle was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators established that four occupants in the speeding vehicle, including two who died and the two who suffered minor injuries, were undocumented migrants.

The crash is being investigated by DPD.
