Names of Three People Who Died in Fountain Hills Crash on State Route 87 near Shea Boulevard Released
3 People Killed in Wrong-Way Collision on SR-87 in Fountain Hills Identified
Fountain Hills, Arizona: Authorities identified the three people who died in a wrong-way collision that happened over the weekend on State Route 87 in Fountain Hills.
The victims were 25-year-old Victor Perez Coralles, 26-year-old Jesus Guadalupe Nunez-Rodriguez, and 42-year-old Emilia Rodriguez. All three victims were Mesa residents.
According to DPS, the driver of a Chevy Avalanche was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when the vehicle crashed into a Ford truck.
The three passengers in the truck died in the accident, and the driver sustained serious injuries.
The wrong-way driver was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
Investigators believe the wrong way driver was impaired at the time of the collision. Charges are pending against the driver whose identity is yet to be released.
