39-Year-Old Woman Killed in Crash Involving Forklift in Santa Maria Identified

Santa Maria, California: Authorities identified the 39-year-old Orcutt woman who died in a collision involving a pickup truck and a forklift Thursday afternoon in Santa Maria.

Tiffany Ann Peterson was a passenger in a small blue pickup truck that collided with a heavy-duty forklift on 3000 Skyway Drive at Hangar Street.

Santa Maria police said Charles Peterson, the victim’s father, was driving the pickup truck when it collided with the prongs of the forklift driven by 81-year-old David Baskett.

First responders pronounced Peterson dead at the scene.

Baskett said he was driving the rented forklift returning it to a local business.

Police questioned Baskett but did not arrest him.

An investigation is investigating the accident.
