Driver, 3 Home Occupants Hurt in Modesto Crash on West Orangeburg Avenue
4 Injured After Car Slams into Modesto Home on New Year’s Eve
Modesto, California: Four people were injured when a driver crashed into a home on New Year’s Eve in Modesto, the California Highway Patrol said.
The collision happened around noon on West Orangeburg Avenue, off Tully Road.
Modesto police said the driver of a car that was thought to have been speeding crashed through a fence, sheared a fire hydrant, and slammed into a house.
The male driver got pinned inside the car and had to be extricated by Modesto firefighters.
The driver was taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
Three occupants of the house, a woman and two children, were treated for minor injuries.
Police said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors, but they are looking into excessive speed as a factor.
