4 Injured in Head-On Collision on Hwy 78 in Ramona

Ramona, California: Four people were injured, three seriously, in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Wednesday afternoon on Highway 78 in Ramona.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the head-on crash involved three vehicles and happened around 12:39 p.m. west of Crosswinds Road.

Information about the cause of the collision was not available.

Two seriously injured patients were airlifted to Palomar Medical Center, and a third seriously injured victim was airlifted to Sharp hospital.

A fourth victim was treated for minor injuries.

Highway 78 at Weekend Villa Road remained closed in both directions following the crash. The lanes were back open just before 2:50 p.m.
