Peoria, Arizona: Four people were hospitalized after two vehicles collided Sunday afternoon on State Route 74 near Lake Pleasant in Peoria, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
Two vehicles collided at around 4 p.m. for an unknown reason.
Troopers and other emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after the collision.
Authorities said one person attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended.
Four people were taken to the hospital for treatment. One of the victims suffered serious, life-threatening injuries.
Investigators believe intoxication contributed to the accident.
SR-74 remained closed in both directions as crews worked the scene.
