4 Injured in Semi-Truck Versus Sedan Crash on Hwy 86 near Thermal

Thermal, California: Four people were injured, three seriously, after a big rig collided with a sedan Tuesday night near Thermal.

The California Highway Patrol said the rollover wreck was reported around 9:51 p.m. on northbound Highway 86, just north of 84th Avenue.

A semi-truck collided with a sedan under unclear circumstances.

The sedan went about 100 feet off the roadway and overturned. The big rig was left blocking the No. 1 lane.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly after the collision.

The sedan driver and the right-front and the left-rear passengers of the sedan were taken by AMR to Desert Regional Medical Center. A fourth patient was taken to an unspecified hospital. Three of the patients sustained serious injuries.

It was not clear if the driver of the semi-truck was injured.

Both vehicles were towed away from the scene.
