4 Killed in Head-On Collision on McHenry Avenue in Del Rio Identified

Del Rio, California – The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office has identified four people who were killed in a head-on collision in the Del Rio community of Modesto on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 4 p.m. on McHenry Avenue at Hogue Road.

19-year-old Angeles Escoto, of Merced, was driving a Mitsubishi sedan when she crossed the center yellow line and collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota SUV driven by 60-year-old Patricia Lopez of Turlock.

Escoto and her passenger, 23-year-old Francis Catano of Merced, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Lopez and 20-month-old Clara Howells, also from Turlock, were rushed to a nearby hospital where they also succumbed to their injuries.

Two other vehicles were also involved in the crash but their occupants were unhurt.

More details about the accident were not released.

The accident remains under investigation.
