Long Beach, California: The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 4-year-old girl who was hit and killed by a car in Long Beach.

Zaylah Pulliam was struck by a pickup truck around 7 p.m. near 55th Way and Paramount Boulevard.

Officers responded to the scene after they were notified about the accident and found Pulliam in the roadway with injuries.

The officers transported the girl to a local hospital while attempting life-saving measures, but the child died from her injuries.

Investigators determined that a 25-year-old Downey man was driving a 2020 Ford F-150 eastbound on 55th Way when he hit the child as she crossed the street just outside of a crosswalk.
