Placer County, California (February 25, 2023) – On Friday afternoon, February 24, police responded to a multi-car accident that injured five people in Placer County.
According to a police report, the collision occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. on westbound Interstate 80 and Drum Forebay Road.
Police confirmed 18 cars, including a Cal Fire pickup truck, collided.
Five persons were treated for minor injuries due to the accident.
Traffic delays were experienced on the eastbound lanes while the westbound lanes were closed at Truckee. The roadway was later re-opened after police cleared the site.
An investigation is ongoing.
