5 Injured in South Lake Tahoe Crash on Highway 89 near Picketts Junction
South Lake Tahoe, California. – Five people were seriously injured in a head-on collision early Monday morning near South Lake Tahoe.
According to the police, the accident happened around 8:15 a.m. on Highway 89 near Picketts Junction.
A 2003 Chevy Tahoe was traveling northbound when it drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2003 Mazda.
John Fulton, the driver of the Chevy, and his passenger, Michelle Fulton, both of Huntington Beach were taken to Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe with major injuries.
Hillary Voigt and Tom Van Nuenen, of Berkeley were in the Mazda, were also hospitalized with serious injuries.
A third unidentified person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
