5 Killed in Corning Crash on 5 Freeway near Liberal Avenue
Corning, California (July 30, 2023) – At least five people were killed in a car crash that happened in Corning on Saturday afternoon.
The accident was reported around 12:44 p.m. on southbound 5 Freeway near Liberal Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A silver Infiniti and a white Dodge Ram towing a travel trailer were involved in the accident. The Infiniti is reported to have veered across the median and collided head-on with the pickup truck.
Four occupants of the Infiniti were ejected and were pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The pickup truck driver was also killed in the accident.
The identities of the victims were not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
